AlbuQ (Pedro Albuquerque) is a self-taught Portuguese artist considered one of Europe's foremost specialists in parchments and illumination.
His vast and varied body of work encompasses oil, sculpture, tiles, medals, design, heraldry and digital painting spanning more than four decades.
Born in 1953, he starts drawing at the age of 15, his first artistic period. At 20 he enters his first drawing period initially attracted to Surrealism later coming back to drawing and focusing on an informal style.
Adopting the pseudonym Eus, and changing his style accordingly, defines his following period spanning from 1997 to 2005.
His current phase denotes new elements and figurative schemes, which recall another form of expression. This is his gestural abstraction period.
